Alrighty folks, we’ve officially begun our 30 Days to Live January Challenge and its time for a quick check in! Let me just start off by saying “Holy cow, ow!”. I am now certified feeling the burn! Stepping in and out of the house has become a challenge as well as getting up and down from the dining table and I’m sure you can imagine from where else! Those squats are no joke! I should also add that I felt like I could “just do a few 20 or so more” these past few days and [in hind sight was a great idea, but..] I’m paying for it! Needless to say I am looking forward to today’s day of rest.
I thought to myself, “Boy, is this different from yoga”.
Don’t get me wrong, yoga can leave you sore the next day, but its more illusive, subtle. Doing squats and crunches make you feel it before, during and definitely well afterwards! I’m happy to be starting the year off with something physical though. I know, I know, what a cliché, but I couldn’t resist! I myself needed to break up the monotony of the winter and get moving! (Why this entire blog is even in existence!) It can be tough when the seasons change and the sun sets earlier. Especially with COVID being on the rampage. Its not like you can meet friends for dinner to break up the night, or go ice skating, or catch a movie. So to beat those winter blues and longings for social meet ups, this fitness challenge is a nice way to switch it up!
